The Liminalist # 126: Coming in from the Cold (with Ashley H)

Return conversation with Ashley H, on clean language, moving from word to image, feeling energy in the body, seeking big sensations, drug-use as hacking into the unconscious, mind & body, Vipassana, meditation & stillness, denial of the body, carried by the life force, distorting the language of the body, the four humors, grief & loss, an energetic discord, an unfortunate event on election day, a backlog of remorse, the life force that waits, out in the cold, Paul Bowles, suicide & estrangement of the soul, universal misery, the misery-maker, Kalsched’s guardian, superiority-inferiority complex, gods & worms, unlived lives, Jed McKenna’s version of enlightenment, forms of detachment, a field identity, emotions as information, pragmatic loving, the scary part of enlightenment, what trumps morality, an obsession to be liked, kindness as pragmatism, Ted Bundy again, varying expressions of compassion.

Songs:  “The Kommema and his Religion,” by SunWalker; “Not Enough,” by Hazelwood Motel; “Here’s to My Disgrace” by Ben Weaver; “Strayed” by Kelly Hogan.

  1. @ around 16 mins you talk about the life force coming form the navel or solar plexus as seen in the Donnie Darko movie, Do you recall in which book Castaneda also talk about this?
    Thanks
