Transhumanism, Space Travel, Galactic Religion & The Key (Prisoner of Infinity XVI:)

“Two thousand years ago, Christianity was but one of many cults vying for attention within the Roman Empire, but it rose to become the most influential movement of all human history. Thus, optimists would attempt to launch many space-related social movements, in the hopes that one of them would eventually take humanity to the stars.”
— William Sims Bainbridge, “The Spaceflight Revolution Revisited”
In the 4th century AD., the Council of Nicea, working for the Roman Empire, set about adapting Christianity into a suitable religion of the State. Its purpose, in retrospect at least, was to take an emerging new paradigm (brought by some guy called Jeshua bar Josephus, later “Jesus H. Christ”—let’s call it “the Kingdom within” paradigm), to reshape and redirect it in such a way that it would cease to be a thorn in the side of the ruling elite at that time. Even more than merely neutralizing it, in fact, this brilliant new paradigm called “Christianity” was used as a means to extend the power and influence of Rome, further afield than could ever have happened otherwise. It was a brilliant bit of religious engineering, and as a result the rule of Rome continues to this day, both physically and psychologically, not only as the Catholic Church but via the whole of Christianity. “The Empire never ended.”
While working on the second part of this book, it occurred to me that something similar may be occurring today.
William Sims Bainbridge is an American sociologist who specializes in religion and cognitive science and a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies. Among his contributions to the field are his studies on how science-fiction media (writing, movies, and TV shows) act as a potential self-fulfilling prophecy. He believes that, like Strieber’s visitors and Castaneda’s old seers, ideas that embed themselves in human consciousness will eventually actuate themselves as reality. Another thing he believes (along with Willis Harman and Strieber’s Master of the Key) is that developing the technology for space travel is essential for the survival of human culture.

Many intelligent species probably end progress in a stew of mysticism, drugs, and decadent social institutions which finally petrifies into a form of living extinction. Most of the rest destroy themselves more violently. A precious few, and we may be the first of this rare breed in our cosmic neighborhood, progress so rapidly, stimulated and guided by transcendent social movements, that they achieve interstellar communication and colonization before entering a static cultural phase. [O]nly a transcendent, impractical, radical religion can take us to the stars. The alternative is one or another form of ugly death. . . . To become fully interplanetary, let alone interstellar, our society would need another leap—and it needs that leap very soon before world culture ossifies into secure uniformity, or decays into absolute chaos. We need a new spaceflight social movement capable of giving a sense of transcendent purpose to dominant sectors of the society. It also should be capable of holding the society in an expansionist phase for the longest possible time, without permitting divergence from its great plan. In short, we need a galactic religion, a Cosmic Order [emphasis added, source here].

Here are some other things Bainbridge believes (or claims to believe; my source is largely an online article):
Due to the decline in agricultural communities and the urbanization of society, there have been less opportunities for new communal sects to re-create “medieval agrarian communities,” without necessarily reducing the opportunities for “more radical communal cults.” Utopian ambivalence toward nature is increasing, some groups embracing the Earth (the agrarian sects) while others (those radical cults, like Scientology or The Process, which Bainbridge studied in 1970 and Strieber reputedly made a film about in the 1960s) try to escape it. The sect-cult distinction is only a matter of degree, however, since both can “evolve back toward conventional society.” Bainbridge gives the example of the Amana sect which became a household appliance corporation, and the Oneida cult that became a silverware corporation. In other words, religious or quasi-religious communities that became productive contributors to capitalist society—workers. Recall the maxim from Changing Images of Man and The Aquarian Conspiracy: “In the new paradigm, work is a vehicle for transformation.” “Arbeit macht frei”—labor makes [you] free.[1] This is also a Masonic axiom, quoted in Willis Harman’s contribution to IONS’ Psychic Research: Challenge to Research (p. 653, quoting Manly Hall): “Man is given by Nature a gift—the privilege of labor.”
As part of its future-envisioning, Harman’s essay (on page 643, 647) advocates a “New Freemasonry”:

The symbolism of the Great Seal of the United States, on the back of the dollar bill, is perhaps the most potent reminder that the structure (the unfinished pyramid) is not complete unless the transcendent all-seeing eye is the capstone position. It is clearly in a transcendental sense that all men are created equal. . . . Use of the term New Freemasonry implies that the esoteric may be in process of becoming disclosed, the occult may be coming into public view. Whether or not this is happening is a question we cannot yet answer. However, there are indications . . . that make it a plausible proposition. What we can do, and propose to do, is summarize the main characteristics of the Perennial Philosophy and of true Freemasonry and examine what it would mean if this view of man-in-the-universe were to become dominant.

Harman states that, with the increasing power of multinational corporations, “it becomes essential that their operative goals shift to become more like those of public institutions.” He insists that capitalist structures are “ultimately most compatible with the growing strength of self-determination as a cultural value [i.e., capitalism] and with widespread disenchantments with monopolistic socialist bureaucracy.”  “If capitalism is to survive this challenge to legitimacy,” he writes, “the operative goals of corporations will have to undergo radical change.” This radical change, which he also terms “the new transcendentalism,” includes the recognition of “the key role of work in meaningful human existence.” Work, Harman states (ibid, p. 664-6, emphasis added), is “the main way in which persons contribute to the society and receive affirmation in return, thus developing a wholesome self-image.
While Harman was reinventing Freemasonry for the masses, William Bainbridge was studying ‘”the religious convictions of many UFO cults” and noting how more and more likeminded UFO adherents and contactees were assembling to form “scientistic cults.” These cults have been central to the emergence of a “Church of God Galactic.” A galactic civilization requires a new galactic religion, and scientistic cults, particularly UFO cults, are “the purveyors of this new religious consciousness” which is leading (in Bainbridge’s optimistic view) to “the creation of a new theocratic order.” The new galactic religion “is politically and socially expedient because of its emphasis upon unfettered technological development.”[2]

  1. I am fascinated that Some can see the Roman transition hi-jacking Christianity and mis-appropriating it for the state and how it survived Rome, the empire. The church was not real Christianity, however.
But the change to UFO space travel thing is not so odd, either. It is an extension of the realm of demons, who become manifest as “Aliens.” We look to space travel to solve our seeming self-destructive tendencies as a species. But no matter how far we go, we can never escape ourselves and our fallen broken nature. Our solution/salvation is looking into ourselves rather than thinking the solution is light years away. We might escape the limits of the speed of light, but we will not escape the limits of God. He has spelled out our problem as well as its solution and He has outlined our progression and demise, while leaving a way out of it, if we dare take a look at that way out of it.
But the so called aliens would prefer we not give any attention to God and that we look to ourselves for a solution. We have demonstrated our failure and inadequacy too many times to justify believing that. Christianity in its very early form, prior to Rome’s hi-jacking of it, is the solution, if we dare seek it out. But one must not mistake churches as having any answer or relevance. They are all owned by the Masons. It must be sought deep from within ourselves as we ponder the bible without the taint of those who abuse that book and its knowledge, to promote aliens as the answer. Aliens are the demons of old, the fallen angels, the Nephilim.

  2. According to some old occult lore , the Nephilim bound themselves together in the form of a snake which became the medium of the unconscious itself . The fabled ” astral plane “. The qlippoth are the demons , the discarded husks or psychic remnants or shards of dead humans psyches .. It is these to these i suspect aliens pertain
Bad news to let them in , nothing good will come of it

  3. Having just finished Most Dangerous, A True Story and now tucking into Secret Societies and Psychological Warfare I am seeing elite, occult, misanthropic, mind control memes maintained and propagated in Strieber’s ( Master of the Key title which references Rosicrucianism and Fourth degree Freemasonry etc..) warning that:
” machine might create itself without humans being aware of it, and that it would certainly keep itself hidden from us. In such a scenario, it would affect us “by indirect means. It might foment the illusion that an elusive alien presence was here, for example, to interject its ideas into society” (p. 126). Such a hypothesis naturally gives rise to the reverse scenario: an alien presence might influence us by entering into our software and tricking us into thinking it was artificial intelligence.”
The offering here is more destabiizing, cognitive dissonance and implied grande puppeteers behind the curtain.
Can’t help but think this is more hubristic, chuckling revelation of the method handiwork. I’m not saying Strieber is aware of this by the way and Im not discounting his trauma either or the effects of trauma as a rule. He is quite likely one of the many unwitting messengers. The deliberately practiced systemized, systemic Trauma upon the individual and upon the masses via specific national/global crisis is the very essence of what devotee’s of the occultism take great joy in manufacturing.
The master of the key woos us with flattery, ” you need to create servants more intelligent than yourselves.” And imagining our specialness we will be offered deserving eternity in the cosmos. Puleese. Classic Inversion. Hopping a plane to Mars sounds like the equivalent of taking a cattle train ride to the hinterlands. Just to say out of harms way. Tickets are free.
It also occurs to me that the basis of Occult worship is Sirius/Saturn/Isis/ the Dog Star from which all power allegedly emanates. It would be fitting would it not that elite sociopathic planners steer the masses via manufactured galactic religion back to outer space? It is kind of the ultimate F-U. Get thee gone…

    • Exactly. You know, the Twightlight Zone, way back in the early 1960s, had an episode in which aliens offered humans a visit to their planet. But once in space, they learned they were going to be the Aliens’ supper and food source. Beware of strangers offering rides into space, says I. It would be a great place to get rid of bodies or table scraps, too 😉 If Aliens are liars or up to no good, even as the NWO has been, then I think we can do better for guidance. Something on the anti-alien side. And for humor, the Simpsons did a halloween special on a parody of that Twightlight zone episode mentioned. It was delightful.

  4. Jasun, you are shining a light on the dark side! What is more universal than the heavens? Or in current terms, space? Already the International Space Station orbits as a global beacon of collaboration. Here comes the next UNIVERSAL CHURCH (uni= one, verse= word, logos). I prophesy Strieber, Kurtzweil, Bainbridge and others, will be the fragmented texts on which future generations will base their proof of authenticity. And again, it’s only storytellers telling stories.

  5. I still have a problem with this lumping all ” the occultists who worship the occult who seek to control the masses ” into one big dumpster .
What about the ones who simply do jungian analysis , write down their dreams , look out for synchronicities , paint, write , meditate , tell no one what theyre up to, seek no followers , use it as a gentle spiritual pursuit
Remember , occultism is virtually any rejected knowledge that has dropped out of mainstream awareness . Its a vast area , and we are examining a few particularly messed up and ego driven parts of it . Otherwise , we could end up simply projecting our own shadow onto the ” evil occulty occultists “

    • I just finished reading about half of The Aryan Christ: The Secret Life of Jung, about how Jung was determined to create a new religion and how he was funded by, you got it, the Rockefellers! That said, the book is by a known FMS/satanic panic advocate, so while the evidence in the book seems solid, the spin may be questioned. Not sure who/what the above comment is addressing so hard to respond when it’s non-specific. Firstly, I am not sure that the social engineers are occultists, necessarily, or even believe in the symbols, narrative and values they employ in creating their guiding fictions. Secondly, the name of the game seems to be complicity, not conspiracy, so the aim here is not to look at who engineered society and ourselves, but how, why, and with what means, in order to see how “we” have been suckered into completing the scripts “they” want to see enacted, filmed, and projected at the local memeplex. The more I see how the tools I’ve used to pursue the truth have been designed by those who wanted to pursue power and manipulate truth, the less I trust the tools I’ve been given & want to rely only on my bare hands.

  6. hi Jasun , i suppose the main point of difference here between us is i’ve never tried to pursue ” the truth ” , only my own truth , within my own interiority . The less people that are involved in this process , the better . I am aware that there are people out there who were troubled , took a lot of drugs , dabbled in the occult in some unwise way , scared themselves silly , had bad experiences and have subsequently fled back into the arms of reason, reduction and materialism , ” being connected to the community ” .
I suppose the way to counter someone trying to use esoteric methods to control the masses is
1 – avoid contact with the mainstream culture or any subculture or esoteric culture offering ” collective wisdom ” or one size fits all memeplexes
2- come to know the truth of your own interiority , ie ” individuate ” , so that you are less easily affected , manipulated by the above . Direct any spiritual pracrice you have toward maintaining a healthy ongoing dialogue with your own interiority , though i guarantee you will be absolutely horrified by some of the things you find there . This is not narcissism, narcissism is the inverse of doing this , despite the popular meme that gets thrown around.
I can vouch that in seven years of working with the jungians they have never invited me to any functions , given me anything to read or any spiritual exercises to perform . The lady i work with is overtly suspicious of ” self help “, ” new age ” or ” occult” techniques , though we have had long conversations about why i would be attracted to such things . Shes happy enough that it is a solitary pursuit for mine. She was happy to have the discussion about Jungs counter enlightenment connections ( of which nazism was a sordid offshoot ), without any obvious discomfort . Everything seems to be on the table for her.
You could argue that this blog is more occult than the corporate mind control program, as the lady in your latest podcast pointed out , this agenda is not occult at all , but mainstream. I grant you Whitleys stuff is a lot more outre though.
Sorry for the ambiguity my earlier comment was in response to mc kaplans above, which had a slightly ” burn the witches” religious undertone to it .

    • Yikes, Kutamun! No Burn The Witches religiosity was intended. Im sorry that was your sense of things. Just giving voice to observations I have had. There are not so many places in the world where I can voice such ideas in public without being looked upon as if I have dropped my basket. I have no interest in seeing Jungians swing from any Yew tree.

  7. Jung once said ” i’m glad i’m not a jungian ” , the impression i get from the jungians when i quiz them about King Carlos fascist connections is , ” glad i’m not Jung”.
Its not just one amorphous entity

  8. Maybe embodiment comes down to being glad that we are not anyone or anything except what we are? Might King Carlos have said, “I am glad I am not Jung”, too, in his twilight years (ha ha)?
Regarding interiority, that’s the kingdom within, the only world we can call our own. Strange and heart-rending to think that it too (the body) will be gone. The quest to conquer outer space = the inverse/displacement activity that prevents surrender to inner space?
Autonomization is the tool-less path, when we are truly moved from within, and become the “technological” tool which the body always was. Original bone, before the fig leaf. No extensions.

  9. The thing about the collective psyche seems to be that its a watery place that is mediumistic , ie affected/ programmed by everyone who uses it . If you use symbols of unknown origin to access it, you will run into an impression of the people that used those symbols there in time gone by . Explains why people start wearing nemyss and declaring themselves reincarnated Atlantean priestesses. If the corporate fascist platonic controllers can charge symbology to the watery realm using trauma , then widely disseminate the symbols to the public as some sort of edgy new tech of the soul , then they will have caught all those users as in a venus ( or lunar ) fly trap . Freedom fighters will be busy programming their own symbols , defending their own sections of ” waterworld”. Literally a battle for the collective interiority. Who would have thought chimps would become so evil ?? .
The thing the controllers are missing , though , is that it often ends badly for people who misuse this stuff in a thaumaturgic way. If enough Jasun Horsleys appear on the scene they are screwed. Or events somehow begin to spin out of control through unintended consequences for them. Look at the lives of the perp/ operators you have mentioned here , not exacrly a picture of health , happiness and good fortune , for most of them , at least.

  11. Wow, Jasun, you really out of the APC loop, aren’t you? Greg Carlwood’s “Higher Side Chats” podcast is pretty much more Red Ice than Red Ice ever was (before Red Ice went down the ” ‘white’ pride” road). It’s probably one of the most popular APC podcasts nowadays, with a show-after-show Carlwood schtick of “aww shucks, gee golly, yeah man, I’m just a positive guy stoner kid gone down the rabbit hole lookin for the truth” … with all the usual suspects — past and present — from the usual APC barrel of guests. Gordon White has a semi-regular guest slot on the show .

Very much like the way you brought in Castaneda’s idea of the old seers being able to, from what I can tell, hitch their consciousness to vehicles, travel ‘outside’ of the material realms and reenter (‘scout’) the human at various points along the time axis. A Vallee-like idea, and certainly one neither Strieber or Castaneda have a monopoly on. 1897 airships ‘interpreted’, anyone? ‘Fairy’ lore?
