Thanks for the nudge to look into Sirius! I’d never given it much thought but obviously there is much more to this ‘Sirius’ than we are lead to believe.
Coming up – the Sun will be conjunct with Sirius on July 5th but back in 1776, the Sun/Sirius conjunction was on July 2. From Wikipedia: he Declaration was ultimately a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain,……. The next day, July 3, John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail: “The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America.” ” The *official* US date to celebrate independence is July 4th.
Kubrick brought us HAL and introduced us to artificial intelligence. Now we have Apple “Siri” and Google ‘Sirius’ both being partially funded by the US government and Siri was several decades in the making as part of the DARPA program.

As of yesterday we have a two-week old black kitten living in a plastic tub in our kitchen. It was at the bottom of our garden screaming for 2-3 hours until I finally found it under all the foliage. Our neighbour, who feeds all the cats and knows whose kitten belongs to which mother, told us who the mother is – a neurotic cat I used to call “The Father” because I thought she was a stunted male, who comes every night to drink water and watch us eat. Anyway, she is the irresponsible mother and apparently has a habit of abandoning her kittens all over the neighbourhood. I doubt she will even recognize it in a day or two.
We’re feeding it milk from a plastic bottle and I’m rubbing its genitals to make it pee. That’s about all I know about 14 cm kittens, Any advice?

Don’t be afraid to “spoil” it (let it sleep close by, etc). It will receive its imprint from whoever mothers it now, so that’s you, “mom.”
It’s a she, and she’s a milk-oholic. Last night she expressed her first purr.
