  1. Great conversation. Thanks both!

Came across this video today and made me think of your chat. Father Rohr discusses the English term ‘Original Sin’ as unfortunate compared to the German phrasing that apparently means ‘Inherited Sin.’ He thinks that better captures the idea of passing on woundedness, which is inescapable.

  2. Hard to see how the gender wars are decoupled from the fossil fuel revolution, technology, population explosion and the ensuing climate emergency.
The second wave took of just as western countries offshored all their heavy industry and embraced neoliberalism. Now we are nations of pole dancers , baristas and computer programs, gender roles are not so important in such a milieu.
Makes sense that chaos would be upset with order for foolishly pursuing a system so damaging to the planet, the body of us all.
Fascinating insights from a practicing Freudian here, when she mentioned keeping your thing in your pocket, Jasun mentioned socialisation , but i also thought homosexuality and transgender as being coping strategies with the Oedipus complex, which goes hand in dick with capitalism , along with schizophrenia , as pointed out by Deleuze and Guattari in their ‘Anti Oedipus’.
Seems the invisible hand of Smiths free market has stopped its blessing benediction over all our heads and is merely stroking itself these days.
