Ancient Parasites & the Guardians of the Unconscious (Dave Oshana guest post)

Who wants to be out of their mind? If you value your identity, you will stay away from Dave Oshana.

Sadly, it is too late for me. I gave my finger and the enlightenment transmission is now taking my whole identity and more, my ancestry too. In the famous last words of a Roman emperor, “Vae, puto deus fio.”[1]

Not that I haven’t tried to escape. I have struggled mightily, and Dave has done all he can to help me slip away: he has been impossible, maddening, relentless, exhausting, irascible, the worst friend my identity ever had.

Don’t be fooled by all these blogposts and podcasts, I don’t recommend this. If you can avoid it, do so with your life. If not, don’t blame me. You have been warned.

My aim in handling the plutonium of this guest post by Dave Oshana (a compilation of five of his recent mini-online-articles) is to distribute it more strategically, while cleaning it up to both maximize its impact and minimize the dangers of premature exposure (if it’s even possible to do both things at once).

Ergo, my contribution here has been more about altering the medium of delivery to render the package more resonant with you, the reader. The revisions I have made are slight, but possibly enough for the auti-cultured to suspend their resistance or confusion in the face of this foreign substance.

Any additional commentary on my part I feel would only delay the delivery, possibly be forced, and even if not, appear contrived. If it is time to remove the kid gloves, the undiluted Dave is what you get, albeit passed on by someone whose hand you have hitherto been happy to shake.

That too may have been rash of you, for I too am not your identity’s friend. Nor necessarily that of your ancestors. Time will tell.

The rest of what follows is pure, unground Dave Oshana.

Thesis statement: The karmic responsibility of unpaid ancestral accounts just got dumped in your hands, activating your sleeper agency.

Several thousand years ago, your ancestors got sucked into a psychosomatic vortex whose centuries-fugal action now seeks to whitewash Hell whilst thoroughly distributing disinherited fragmented entities of psychic disintegration to every level of human existence by installing GOTU (Guardians of The Unconscious), glorified gatekeepers to self-regenerating toxic mind-fields of crazy-making false selves. The degenerate are regenerating.

It is time, brave gentle folk, to enter the unprocessed wastelands.

Identity Virus

For thousands of years, the Identity has self-replicated like a computational virus, ensuring that every human being will be made in its image. Passing along all of its faults, insecurities and irrational fears, and mimicking the Ancestors, the Identity seeks complete control over everything that lives, breathes, or moves, or even anything presumed to exist.

Ages ago, imperceptible forces created a symbiotic live-in arrangement within embodied human consciousness which screwed up communication and relatedness within the self, and between others and Nature. We now have no choice but to deal with it.

Ancient Parasites of Human Ancestral Consciousness

The problem with this viral infiltration is that it is completely invisible: unless you know how to open your inner senses.

These forces, or more simply “things,” attach to and drain our life force and the situational flows between Consciousness and the body. They breed in the ancestral pool, then hitchhike like ticks from person to person, infecting the host with effluent, causing confusing sensations, brain fog and ultimately a living death. In this zombified state of reduced awareness, energy and ability, beingness and relationship disintegrates.

Unfortunately, the resultant cognitive/behavioural symptoms cannot be resolved by talking therapy because the causes are neither language- nor event-based. By contrast, the transportation of these unsupportive energies has no visible physical form.

Eerily, they could be compared to hungry ghosts, entities, vampires, succubi and flyers. This should not be over-thought, but simply “felt.” This contagion now maintains our current ancestral malaise.

To give a computational metaphor, these infections happen in an undocumented software layer of our make-up. This makes them difficult to identify, especially since the virus blinds the host. Out of sight, in this case, is not out of mind, only shielded from conscious perception and thereby enabling hidden backdoors into the mind’s dreamscape.

For this reason, in an attempt to enter and “see,” the current generation is taking psychedelic trips, not realizing that they may only be feeding the parasite.

Why I Will Be Washing Your Ancestors’ Dirty Undies Before Sunday

It’s such a dirty job that no one has been doing it—until now.

After last Saturday’s ‘Ancestral Pre-Wash: Ancestral Cleaning Blessing,’ which intensely focused on anonymised personal and group ancestral connection, I thought that participants would not require the same services for a while. To be honest, I was relieved because ancestral clearing is exhausting, unpredictable work. Literally anything could come up, and frequently does. But lo and behold, after Sunday’s ‘A Game of Identities,’ which was just as intense but focused more upon cognitive content than  ancestral connection, there was a feeling that something that could be addressed, wasn’t.

Hence, by Monday morning, I found myself in a Mexican stand-off with a gaggle of who-knows-whose ancestors, wondering why their ancestral laundry was still unwashed. This is why I frequently say that I don’t like this aspect of my vocation. Laundry is either clean or not. There is no room for spotty or patchy work. No one is content with half-washed, even if it is a huge improvement. They only see the dirt.

I get it, I have high standards too, higher even than the ancestors.  Ironically, the ancestors are the problem, and it’s impossible to get all the laundry clean unless the entire clan cooperates. And when does that ever happen? Never, ever, in human history. Because who admits to wearing dirty undies? As I thought, no one.

If families cooperated, then this work would be completed quickly. But lack of cooperation is part of the sticky problem that is repeated every generation. What comes around keeps going around, just like the proverbial COVID-19. The only thing not going around now is a fully locked and loaded soapy wash.

Despite, these issues, it is gratifying and fulfilling to actually negotiate with the ancestors rather than listen to their badgering bluster, and to come to an understanding without involving descendant egos. That of course means that you are the last to know and have to sit outside whilst the adults talk.

Even so, participants thankfully are prepared to show up and give time to this process. It is, after all, for them and their family’s descendants. In reality, the participants have to go this course, otherwise there would be no freedom from the blathering ancestors who drown out the better ancestors.

The Identity vs. the Ancestors

This war has been waged unseen for thousands of years.  The take-over is almost complete.

The Ancestors are like a hairy goat. They rule over the body, especially the emotions, passions, and hormones. They care mainly about mating, rutting and digesting. The Ancestors consider themselves very personable, a “let it all hang out,” in-your-face kind of personal.

By way of contrast, the Identity, having no empathy for the goat’s slavish compulsions to fill and empty its organs, disgusted by bodily fluids and hair, can be likened to a frustratingly impossible customer service chat bot that fakes niceness in order to control the customer with dumbness.

The Identity does not understand love, but knowing that love is extremely valuable, seeks to acquire all the love in the world by any means necessary. The emotionally volatile ancestral influences disturb the Identity’s fake acts of kindness, rationality and humanity.

In a bid not to lose face, the Identity seeks to rout and punish the ancestral influences, chasing them deep into the nervous system, and suppressing them at source by shutting down unrestricted expression and unbounded perceptions.

After such a millennia-long lockdown, nothing authentic comes through the body, everything is fake, vague, scripted, and as safe as possible. But not safe enough. The Identity, being neither alive nor dead, existing only within the mind and continually afraid of being wiped out, becomes obsessed with its survival and focuses upon the impossible goal of immortality (impossible for mortals).

The Identity’s lust for power is insatiable and, so far, unstoppable. The Ancestors never saw this coming (no one ever sees the Identity coming). The hairy goat and all its passions got subsumed by something it could never have imagined. They haven’t even noticed that the Identity has been running things for a very long time.

Ancestral Energy Transactions

Every human interaction is an ancestral energy transaction. All hell breaks loose when the ancestors don’t get what they want, and hell is contained when they do get what they want. There is always a hidden agenda, a payoff, an “ask,” a “get.” Sabotage, interruption, appearance, jealousy and dishonesty are just some of the means they employ. Typically selfish, often insatiable, left unchecked they will destroy us all.

Identities are “cut-outs,” cover-ups, fake narratives creating plausible deniability. Whilst preoccupied with the Game of Identities we never see the real game:  the Game of Ancestors. Both games control, restrict, and ruin us.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The ancestral patterns cross-pollinate to ensure their perpetuity. Rotten at the core, the rot eats away at the tree from the inside out, only showing up after many years, on the surface, in various forms. For humanity, it is almost too late to be restored. This is the age of bad apples. A devastating harvest ensues. Time is running out.

A participant wondered recently if my stated wish to save humanity was a joke. It’s neither a joke nor naive wishful thinking. You want to do the right thing, but you are confused. And yet simultaneously, somewhere inside, you know that, in good conscience, you cannot ignore this. Something obstructs your clarity, fearing that knowing the truth will upset the status quo, not understanding that healing would be the actual result.

All the while, something relentlessly bugs you, demanding resolution.

An Enlightenment Transmission group is a representative melting pot of assembled tribes and clans. The ancestral patterns show up at the tectonic edge where souls meet.

To taste life on that edge, and take the hairy goat by the horns, join the upcoming events or request replays of ‘The Real Heal: Ancestral Negotiations’ (this Saturday the 21st) and ‘A Game of Ancestors’ (Sunday the 22nd).

As well as this opportunity, there is a free Dave event the following week, on Sat 28th that is open to all. Sign up here.

  1. This is interesting. Last night, I wondered if every emotion we feel is a choice. For instance, watching a football game, we choose what emotions we will feel simply by identifying with one team or the other. The exact same event will bring out opposite emotions depending on your choice of identification. I am starting to feel every emotion we experience is based on past choices of identification. For me, I seem to identify with rejection, thus every interaction I have, the emotions I feel are decided by my choice to identify with rejection. The initial fear before the interaction even starts, the quick anger and flight mode as soon as events don’t go as hoped, and even the distrust and suspicion when interactions turn out “good”. This rejection identity also leads to feelings of inadequacy and lack of confidence, in feelings of despair and further identification with the lone wolf or rebel. The quick mockery of others as a way to overcome these emotions. The constant need to prove myself in the eyes of others.
A little more personal than intended, but I think I am on to something.

  2. Very interesting, Jasun. Once again, you and I seem to be thinking along a similar track.

“For thousands of years, the Identity has self-replicated like a computational virus, ensuring that every human being will be made in its image. From a cognitive science informed archeological perspective, the archeologist Lambros Malafourkis developed a perspective called “material engagement theory” to describe the coevolution of human psychological processes with the material culture around them. With contemporary dissociation theory (supplemented with an understanding that every dissociative process is paired with an idealized, self-correcting ‘enactment’) as well as a more up to date and less reified understanding of archetypes – such as Jean Knox’s work (in Archetype, Attachment, Analysis) or Warren Colmans ideas in Act and Image, we can recognize that the ‘archetype’, or ‘egregore’, is basically a mutated and polluted form of an ontological ‘object’ (a fundamental ‘other’); in other words, at the highest level, the human being is really the Supreme Being, with its witnessing consciousness (male) as the transcendental pole, and the natural world (female; involving the bodily experience-with-external Others; human or non-human) as the imminent pole. Demons, or egregores, are basically entropy creating and therefore life-sucking parasites that tempt and seduce human beings into relationships, and eventually, identification, with them.

The self could also be conceived as the ontological object in question (the creation of the infinite being). The “false self”, then, would be what these ‘egregores’ or demons represent; they are attractors synonymous with the various physiological determinants in the material world which bring about a particular qualitative state of knowing and acting in the world. These attractors, then, are simply reproducing their ontological form; and, in deriving from or existing in a dimension superordinate to the spacetime realm, their abilities/capacities enable them to focus their human agents (or slaves) on the various elements which underlie the archetypes ontogenetical structure; this means the material environment itself; from the things we look at, walk on, hear – in short, what we psychologically relate with. The archetype is basically all of this.

This needn’t imply of course that only the nature alone is the only acceptable object to interface with; for instance, biomimicry is an example of how humans can imitate natural form for our own living ends. Advances in technology of various sorts can and should be applied to the promotion of ends which help us integrate ourselves psychologically with the world around us. But already, so much of our world, fundamentally, is built to reflect the prowess of the spirits which regulate the feelings we feel and thoughts we think. From road shapes, to building shapes, to so much more. These effects seem small, but they add up.

    Just a few comments though:

Unfortunately, the resultant cognitive/behavioural symptoms cannot be resolved by talking therapy because the causes are neither language- nor event-based. By contrast, the transportation of these unsupportive energies has no visible physical form.”

I would say, “not through talk therapy alone”. It would be wrong, on a literal level, to think that somatic experiencing or sensorymotor psychotherapy would suffice when the therapist or guide has to speak to another person to orient their attention in the therapeutically helpful way. It would also be wrong, from a more psychological perspective, to think that bodily sensations aren’t related semiotically to historical determinants – objects (real others) which caused these sensations/feelings, nevermind the psychological history and the transformations that that history has created since the originating situations. These transformations aren’t epiphenomenal or unreal. The more clearly we know our history, the better and more clarified our affects become. At the very least, the more we actually communicate in language with another person about our history, the more sophisticated our experience of self becomes.

I’m sure you’re acquainted with Paul Ricoeurs term “performative contradiction”. It makes no sense to trash and belittle language when the very ideas you’re communicating literally necessitate the use of language. Don’t get me wrong though: the body and bodily experience is ontologically the primary object to pay attention to; but this doesn’t make language epiphenomenal or a mere cognitive aid; its as necessary to the building of a spiritually enlightened self as scaffolding is necessary to the construction of a beautiful building. The metaphor perhaps is even less the case for a building, because language genuinely opens up the mind to vantage points which aren’t accessible outside the epistemological facility that language cognitively enables. Kinesthetic and visceroaffective forms of knowing are what language should be focusing on; but language helps to bridge the relationship between that form of knowing and the other people and the semiotic structures that feeling states are correlated, or responding to; for instance, the semiotic structure could be a non-verbal display in a persons face, body movement or vocal tone; or it could be something like a persons history; an epistemological bias; a sociocultural bias. Its through language and language alone that this type of edification occurs, and we should be mindful and grateful for this capacity given all that it enables for us in our relationships.

    • I sense that one complexity is in distinguishing how much the relationship between “thought-constructed” selfhood and pre-lingual humanity was/is symbiotic. Given that it is only thinking that proposes this symbiosis in the first place!

What we seem to have is an invader that claims that their invasion of you was in your interest, yet also completely controls the main means of communication.

      Reply
      • I’m interested in the following question: Why is prelingual selfhood deemed natural, but thought constructed selfhood unnatural? Aren’t both these processes not arising out of need? Are they not both ineluctably semiotic i.e. relating to signs?

If language wasn’t necessary or valuable or played no important role in communicating information that enhances self regulation, than why speak at all? Clearly, hominids evolved language (language is not a recent invention as Julian Jaynes influenced commentators imagine; it is a structural prerequisite for the kinds of minds that humans possess; hence, there has never been a human being with a human-like awareness that did not evolve that awareness through the supportive scaffolding of the spoken word). If you’re speaking, and communicating through language, evidently there must be a value in doing so.

The problem is that people have completely forgot the ontological primacy of the body – an ontological primacy which is encoded in the very book which has played such a major role in the western world – the Bible – but because it has been translated out of its original, metaphysically concerned language (Hebrew), the connotations supplied by a knowledge of Hebrew cannot guide the reader towards a deeper understanding of what the text is about at the psychoontological level. Adam and Eve are not mere people, but states of self-experience. Eve – ChaWaH – means “living one”. Adam, which has the first letter (aleph) and the word for blood “DaM”, implies some superordinate principle. Adam isn’t even male – its says so quite clearly in Genesis 5:2. It’s a transcendent principle – hence, the aleph (the first letter, shaped to represent the upper principle connecting with the lower principle) is “in the dam” (the blood). Eve is the feminine principle so the authors of the Hebrew bible like almost all metaphysical traditions the world over associated imminence, embodiment and change with femininity. Eve is the “living one” i.e. the experiencing, animate body. Knowing something about Hebrew explains the snake too (Unfortunately, most western educated readers of this text with a mystical leaning rely upon the inverse gnostic take on the snake and so come away with the exact opposite connotation that the text, taken as a whole, would ecologically suggest; but people being what they are, once you’ve become invested in a position, they are reluctant to give it up). NaChaSh – “snake”, is related to the word for divination, or intuition, “NiChUSh”. The snake is intuition, but also fear (after all, humans, like all primates, evolved on savannahs where a healthy fear of snakes was a prerequisite for survival; the archetypal significance of snake has persisted worldwide in human beings, found in almost every aboriginal culture). In other words, our intuitive relation to the world is based in a reflexive “guess” that is deeply based in our bodies self-regulation processes. The bible is basically critiquing or arguing that the ontological fall of human beings from their original ontological connection with the universe is based in a perversion of cognitive processes, or semiosis, between organism and world. The snake, or intuition, tells Eve (the feeling body) that the tree of knowledge of good and evil is good to eat. This tree is the simplistic essentializing of reality into categories of “good” and “evil”. As Solomon writes, there’s a time for everything, even killing (as when someone is trying to kill you, its complete fair and reasonable to do what you need to do with protect yourself and others from this person, even, if the situation calls for it, killing this person). The simplistic reductionism is at the core of so much modern day cognitive science that is based in the 4 “e’s”: embodiment, enactment, extension, and embeddedment. The philosopher Mark Johnson has extended this into exaptation and emotion. All in all, Adam and Eve are a unit: intuitive relations to the world (the snake) require both feelings (which is where the semiosis is originally communicated) AND reflection. Adam, as the transcendent principle, transcendentally “acts upon” what it knows in its embodied response. If it is consistent with its already assembled body of knowledge, it is accepted; if not, it is vetoed. The Hebrew is arguing an epistemology which does not deny the wholeness or unity between mind and body, but acknowledges the underlying property dualism between intuitive, reflexive modes of knowing and reflective, knowledge based modes of knowing. All of us already do this and rely upon this from day to day. What matters is that the mind KNOWS that it is doing this, and hence, thematizes it to itself so that it can more consistently relate to the world in coherent ways.

On another front, is there not something perhaps conspiratorial i.e. trauma-based, in the suspicious attitude you take towards language – as if it – language – were an entity to itself, and that it had some sort of agenda against “us”? This seems to be the perennial doctrine of societies that have maintained an ontological duality that separates the dynamical, changing world of everyday material objects from the world of mental experience. There is a need, in other words, to recognize a property dualism (language AND affect; material objects/horizontal and mental objects/vertical) that is nevertheless reflective of different gradients within a singular ontological continuum. Both Hinduism, or at least some schools within Hinduism, as well as Gnosticism, Manicheanism and perhaps many more schools of thought, indulge in this conspiratorial ethos of an “us” (elite) vs “them” (non-elite). In the metaphorical transposition, the elite become “mind”, and the non-elite become “body”. Or, conversely, the elite become “those who know” from those who “don’t know”. The dualism that is created is not necessarily the same across the board, but what is typical is a strictly non-relational and non-dynamical doctrine which pits one part of human experience against another part of human experience. Language is oftentimes trashed; but in other gnostic-dualist positions, its privileged (i.e. descartes). The funny thing about an ontological dualism is that it can go in either direction – diminishing the body and/or language. And the effect for human relations and human functioning is always the same. Insufficient communication (in language), and as result, greater suffering.

Overall, there is a property dualism that needs to be recognized within the overall ontological unity that moves originally from the material, dynamical world (for instance, when we’re conceived) into the mental, phenomenal world of experience.

It’s like, knowing presence, you can see language for what it is. Thus, the idea of a pre-lingual self can be hypothesised.

          > Aren’t both these processes not arising out of need?

What I recall, and I may be a bit out of date, is that language has been proposed as a means to facilitate social connection. Gossip, info about food supplies, this kind of thing. But now we use it to philosophise.

The great memeplex of “me” is in the dock and trying to justify its existence. It’s kind of like the “what have the romans ever done for us” speech out of monty python. When the memeplex is in control it nods its head, yes language, where would we be without it? But when presence is there… ?

As befits a discussion about language it might help to define what we mean by it or at least acknowledge that we don’t really know. When Dave talks about the uselessness of language, IMO, he is 1) talking about the language he is using (English), and by extension other common modern languages; b) consciously presenting a paradox to the listeners along the lines of the Cretan who says all Cretans lie. IOW, it is a self-cancelling statement, such as “all truths are relative.”

This invites the listener into the realm of paradox, intellectually, which I think is a gateway for the psychosomatic realm where language has installed itself, illegitimately, but also where sensations that cannot be codified happen, and themselves lead into deeper energetic realms of consciousness, where language truly has no place, or if it does, it is an altogether different (higher/deeper) order of language. (Dave has spoken of Original Language.)

If we can use language to discover that we are language, body and soul, perhaps we can then get free of the counterfeit language and the false identity it has assembled and installed into our nervous systems, and become the word of the Lord (Hallelujah!)? Whether we would still speak at all at that point (much less write) remains to be seen (or heard); but if so it would presumably be of an altogether different quality and intent.

The Adam & Eve piece above is very interesting: I suggest you make more paragraph breaks in future to make it easier on readers; you might be surprised what a difference formatting can make to effective communication. Massive blocks of text deter most readers, myself included.

        • I had a chance to read the rest of your piece. Interesting. However, IMO it’s good to realise that these Kabbalistic concepts are not pointing to some form of ontological reality, no such thing exists, as the creators are fully aware. This metaphysical language has purpose. It’s a vehicle. It’s designed to take the person somewhere… but NOT by the imparting of a philosophy. Rather by the ongoing practice and working with the symbology. It’s a bus disguised as a roadmap.

Still taking in your post. It’s been awhile since I was doing base 9 numerology, so I’m a bit rusty. But why relate nun-cheth- shin like this when there’s a far more obvious correlation for 358?

Of necessity, I have chosen full embodiment, which means leaving my notebooks behind. I watch the language of the body not the text on the page.

If you can supply visual examples of what you have written then I will watch. I won’t read though. Words are the slippery serpent’s seductions which provided hypnotic S’s for Indian gurus and illegitimate asses for priestly classes.
