  1. Hey Jasun- It is quite interesting to know that the King family did indeed receive $100 dollars in compensatory damages for the murder of Martin Luther King when a civil jury found the defendant(s) ( Lloyd Jowers and several Government agencies ) guilty of participating in a successful conspiracy to kill Martin King.

The guilty verdict was rendered on December 8th 1999. There was virtually zero mention of this happening at that time in this part of the world ( the only reporter who sat thru the trial was from a Portuguese newspaper… ), and NO hint of the trial since except in 2 books by William Pepper , the erstwhile attorney for the King family. Neither of the books was ever reviewed in U.S.newspapers , magazines etc. ( The two unknown books about the King killing ; ‘Orders to Kill’, and ‘An Act of State ” are sadly crammed w/ the appalling & little known facts of MLK’s assassination. )

The King family sought $100 dollars only as a symbolic amount , chiefly because they had to fill out that section of the necessary paperwork in order to proceed with a civil suit. The civil suit was seen as the only possible means to depose witnesses, and get evidence in front of a jury since NO official law enforcement agency, prosecutor, or grand jury was willing to go a single step further once the ‘patsy’ ( James Earl Ray ) was quickly framed & sent away to prison sans any presentation or questioning of evidence in public.

Mr. Ray , himself was incorrectly & purposely told by a prominent attorney cooperating w/ the prosecutorial apparatus that his ONLY course was between pleading no contest & immediately agreeing to a sentence of life -in -prison… OR a 100% sure Death sentence if he demanded a trial.

He thought better of it… about a day later and 24 hours too late , of course.

Anyway, just wanted to correct the impression that the King family ‘received financial compensation’ as as if $100 constituted same.- J. Joslin ( Detroit, South of the Border, USA ))

      • (Should have said) …The celebrated ( in the day … ) defense attorney who collaborated w/ prosecutors in the hasty disposal of Mr. Ray was Percy Foreman.

I believe the King family’s lawyer at the time of their lawsuit ( 1999) , Mr. Pepper, for reasons of safety had to move his own family to the U.K. where he eventually pursued a long & successful career as a barrister specializing in Int’l Law.

His change of personal venue was prompted by caution for the well-being of his family after receiving numerous death threats over more than a decade of investigation & legal struggle in search of the truth behind the well organized assassination of MLK .

JH: What’s the point is emotionally saying, I want to give up and die, if I can’t find reason and meaning and purpose – and I feel like that every day. I was just saying to my wife, every morning now, and it is not just in the morning, I wake up and say: “What now?” I wake up and there is nothing. … I am feeling the day is completely empty. I don’t have a consistent sense of purpose. … What is left of my identity is not hard-wired to some sort of mental idea of purpose.

Neither this body am I nor soul,
Nor these fleeting images passing by,
Nor concepts or thoughts, mental images,
Nor yet sentiments and the psyche’s labyrinth.

*** Wo am I then? A consciousness without origin, ***

Nor born in time nor begotten here below.
I am that which was, is, and ever shall be,
A jewel in the crown in the Divine Self.
A star in the firmament of the luminous One.

Sutra 8 of the Pratyabhijnahridayam says: The position of the various systems of philosophy are only various roles of that Conciousnesss or Self.

[T]he Self takes on the various philosophies as an actor takes on a role.

“The learned have a secret, the vicegerent have a secret, the prophets have a secret, the angels have a secret, and beyond all of that God has a secret. If the ignorant came to know the secret of the learned, they would destroy them. If the learned came to know the secret of the vicegerents, they would break away from them. If the vicegerents came to know the secrets of the prophets, they would oppose them. If the prophets came to know the secret of the angels, they would indict them. If the angels knew the secret of God they would fall down in bewilderment and pass away into ruin.”
